Three arrested in Longmeadow last week

LONGMEADOW – Anthony Fusco, age 18 of 167 Kenmore Dr., was arrested by Officer Andrew Makara for operating a m/v after suspension for OUI. Fusco was observed operating his motorcycle on June 30 without a rear brake light.
Shelby Rose Therrien, age 17 of 1 Dartmouth St., Enfield, Conn., was arrested By Officer Amanda VanBuskirk on June 29 at 11 p.m.on Frank Smith Road. Therrien was the operator of a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with the hazard lights activated. When Officer VanBuskirk stopped to assist she smelled the odor of alcohol and after conducting a field sobriety test, placed Therrien under arrest. Also found in the car were illegal drugs. Therrien was subsequently charged with OUI Liquor, Unlicensed Operation and Possession of Class E Drug.
Jared Cohen, age 26 of 34 Edson Street, Longmeadow, was arrested by Detective Carl Mazzaferro on June 24 at 7:45 p.m.. According to the report, Cohen was operating his vehicle in an unsafe manner while entering the Longmeadow Street CVS parking lot. During the stop, Detective Mazzaferro observed marijuana in plain view and other items consistent with distribution of the drug. Massachusetts State Police K9 assisted in the search of the vehicle which yielded more than 2 pounds of marijuana. Cohen was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute and for Failing to Yield at an Intersection.
REMINDER: Residents are again reminded to be aware of the driveway sealer scam. This poast weekend a Mohawk Drive resident working in her yard was approached by two individuals offering to seal coat her driveway . According to one of the suspect, he had extra materials from another job and would perform the service at a discount rate.
